Michael Cruse is one of the most thoughtful and inquisitive producers of his generation. There is always something new to taste and discover at this small winery in Petaluma. Cruse fans will note the addition of new sparkling wines in this range. The Tradition is designed to be a sort of NV Champagne equivalent, but in 2016, the debut release, there are obviously no reserve wines that could have been blended into the base vintage. That will of course change going forward. The 2018 still red wines are quite attractive and very much capture the mid-weight feel and freshness that are such signatures of the vintage.
