Francesco, Manuela and Emanuele Cambria, along with their uncle Enzo, are at the helm of one of the original Etna estates. While the area is now a hotbed of wine production and new estates are springing up all the time, this wasn’t always the case; it used to be that Benanti and Cottanera were among the few you could turn to for a good local wine. The Etna Rossos are the estate’s best wines, but note also the interesting l’Ardenza, Italy’s only example of a monovariety Mondeuse Noir wine; though it was planted because of a nursery error, the wine has more than proven its worth over the years.
