This range of new releases from Chappellet shows off the 2016 vintage to great effect. The wines are nuanced, open-knit and spectacularly delicious. Chappellet fans will note the addition of the new Cabernet Sauvignon Hideaway, which is sourced from a parcel that lies adjacent to Continuum. The Chappellets have recently decided to bottle the top selections from their Sonoma-Loeb label under the Chappellet label. Reviews for those wines are included here for ease of reference.

An astonishing 500 acres of land burned on the Chappellet properties this past October, but diligent work succeeded in protecting the vineyards. I tasted a wide range of wines with Molly and Cyril Chappellet and their longtime winemaker, Phillip Corallo-Titus. Chappellet's Cabernet Sauvignon Signature remains one of the best values in Napa Valley, while the flagship Pritchard Hill bottling has gained in refinement in recent years.
