Celani is another estate that was so impressive in these tastings. Winemaker Mark Herold has taken his current approach that melds richness with energy and applied it here as well. The Celani 2018s are heady, flamboyant wines that offer a striking combination of lusciousness and energy, with a distinct leaning towards the more opulent side of things. My only critique here is the weight of the bottles, which is excessive and out of touch for today’s world.
