With approximately 70 hectares in the best sites around Langenlois, Willi Brundlmayer can offer a complete range of wine styles. This potential for diversity was fully exploited in 2005, and Brundlmayer created a spectacular series of wines. "Unfortunately it was our smallest harvest for many years," he said. "We probably went overboard with our vineyard work in the summer and carried out too much thinning and green harvesting. Still, I am pleased with the results because in the end we were able to harvest perfect grapes from the best sites, from Kaferberg to Heiligenstein, in the warm sunshine." For the first time in three decades, an ice wine could once again be made at the Brundlmayer winery: the temperature fell to nearly -10oC (14oF) on November 24, and a rare Gelber Muskateller Eiswein was made.
