Catena Zapata is an iconic winery working hard to bring Argentine wine to the world; not for nothing has it been the country’s top exporter for the past three decades. Founded and led by Nicolás Catena, today it is run by Laura Catena, with a focus on the oenological excellence of a vast team overseen by the extremely talented Alejandro Vigil as well as prestigious researchers such as Fernando Buscema, who runs the Catena Institute of Wine. Having begun a process of terroir-focused quality 40 years ago – with vineyards in Paraje Altamira, Gualtallary, Vista Flores, Villa Bastías, Agrelo and Lunlunta – today their parcel Malbecs and Chardonnays are some of the best wines on the market.
