These are two of the most impressive wines I have tasted from Batzella. The wines have often offered glimmers of significant potential. Two thousand thirteen is the first vintage where that potential starts to become realized. A reduction in oak along with personality of the year have yielded two super expressive wines. Quite frankly, for many years I have been waiting and hoping owners Franco Batzella and Khanh Nguyen would make the next step. They have with the 2013s.
