There’s never a dull moment with John Schwartz, who oversees a number of projects in Napa Valley. The wines at Au Sommet and Amuse Bouche, made by Heidi Barrett, are finessed and understated in style. Schwarz favors a slightly richer style at Coup de Foudre. Those wines, made by Kent Jarman, are more overt in feel but are also not quite as flamboyant as they were a few years ago.
