Jean Hoefliger has done a terrific job with his 2014s at Alpha Omega. The wines are rich, sumptuous and quite attractive. Hoefliger sources fruit from a variety of vineyards. Specifically, his wines from Georges III and Missouri Hopper are quite strong considering that neither vineyard can be said to belong to the very upper echelon of sites in Napa Valley. The only wine here I find difficult is the ERA, where ripeness, intensity and oak are pushed way over the edge. Otherwise, the rest of these wines are compelling, to say the least.
