The 12th century Abbazia di Novacella is one of Alto Adige's main tourist attractions. It would be great to see a little more attention paid to the wines. The entry-level 2014s (the wines in the Alsatian bottles) are below average within the context of the year, while the top of the line 2012 and 2013 Praepositus wines I tasted fared only marginally better. Surely a higher level of quality is possible.
