Pierre Menard

Pierre Menard's parents’ farm in Anjou has over 20 hectares of old-vines Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc (some dating back to 1920), which they sell to the local cooperative. When Pierre Menard returned from making wine in Canada, Hungary and New Zealand, he saw the incredible potential of the vineyards and started to farm a small parcel of his parents' property himself, following biodynamic principles. He made his first wines in 2013. Like a lot of younger vignerons in Anjou, Pierre has committed to dry whites and has veered away from the botrytized grapes that have been traditional in this region.
