Georges Lelektsoglou

Known by most people in Tain and the wine world as "Georges the Greek" or even simply "the Greek," Lelektsoglou owns and presides over a wine shop with one of the most impressive collections of French icon wines I've ever seen--and not just wines from the Rhône Valley. His connections to producers up and down the Rhône Valley go back decades and a few years back he decided to try his hand at producing wines from some of the region's best vineyards, having them made by winemakers whose identity he is cagey about revealing. The quality in the bottle is consistently excellent, which is no surprise given how deeply he's wired into the Rhône scene, and the wines are well worth a search.
