Under the management of the fourth generation, the Tommasi winery has grown to oversee a massive 599 hectares throughout Italy, all while maintaining an exceptionally high level of quality. The family, headed up by Executive Director Pierangelo Tommasi, manages seven different estates from Veneto, to Lombardy, to Sicily, to Basilicata, to Puglia, to Tuscany and a new acquisition in Orvieto (Umbria). However, the primary focus remains their home base in Veneto, where they produce Valpolicella wines from the Classico zone and Lugana from the shores of Lake Garda. Due to the difficulties of the vintage, there will be no 2014 Ca' Florian. This is the only Amarone that is refined partially in new oak. Speaking of high-end Amarone, De Buris remains a notable standout, hailing from the high elevations of La Groletta in Sant'Ambrogio. Fans of Tommasi can also look forward to a Valpolicella Superiore from the De Buris vineyard, which will surely be an exciting addition to the category.
