Ernst Storm is one of the most brilliant winemakers in Santa Barbara. His wines are beautifully focused, delineated and highly expressive of place, almost regardless of the vintage. The 2020 Pinots are sculpted, energetic wines that show what was possible in this challenging year. A number of the wines are truly exceptional. There is some whole cluster influence, but it is modest. Oak is also moderate. Readers who enjoy Sauvignon Blanc will want to check out Storm’s bottlings. Few do it better than Ernst Storm.
