This is a solid set of new releases from Aldo Conterno, where quality continues to be consistently high when Mother Nature is not excessively capricious. The Bussia now spends 26 months in oak, versus about 28 for the Colonnello and Cicala and 40 for the Romirasco. Conterno scrapes out the barrels after each vintage, so there is always a sheen of oak in these wines when they are young. Sadly, there is no Granbussia release scheduled for this year.
