This estate situated on the road leading into Montalcino and close by Casanova di Neri owns ten hectares of Sangiovese that can all be bottled as Brunello. In an effort to make the best possible wine it could in the difficult 2014 vintage, the estate only made 10,000 bottles of Brunello instead of the more usual 23,000. The estate is known for making broad, soft Brunellos but I have always thought they could also have a little more finesse and nuance. The talented Valentino Ciarla was brought on as the new consultant winemaker in 2018, and I think might help the estate achieve that goal.
