Led by winemaker Chris Peterson, also of Avennia, Liminal works exclusively with the WeatherEye vineyard to create their range of site-specific wines. These wines continue to impress me, whether Rhône or Bordeaux variety-focused. The Cabernet Sauvignon Block 47 is one of the top wines of the 2021 vintage. It is clearly geared for greatness. There is also a new cuvée in the range, The Mountain Tower. This is a blend of 52% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot from the north side of the WeatherEye Vineyard, which is outside of the Red Mountain AVA and a cooler location. The potential here is off the charts. Liminal is one of the most exciting projects in Washington State today.
