This set of wines from Valeria Viganò and Luca Orsini are more than worthy follow ups to last year’s collection. As always, the wines here stand out for a striking sense of translucency that is achieved through biodynamic farming, minimalist winemaking and patience. Vinification is done in cement, while aging takes place in a mix of casks and smaller, neutral French oak barrels. The Camalaione, Le Cinciole’s Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, is the one wine that does show a bit more oak influence. I prefer the Sangiovese here.
