In 1994, Casa Lapostolle was founded in Colchagua by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband, Cyril de Bournet. Their son, Charles de Bournet, is now at the helm. Using grapes from their own regional vineyards and under the oenological supervision of Andrea León, they produce wines with a firm, ripe expression and fruity flavors from mostly Bordelais and a few Mediterranean varieties. The cold 2021 vintage and warm 2023 vintage were milestones in the house style, honing in on more precise fruit and calibrated palates. In that mood, they launched Syrah Clos du Lican and Viognier Clos du Lican, along with GSM Clos du Mendier. The novelty in 2024 is the Condor de Apalta, released under the Clos Apalta umbrella. The vineyard, which was planted in 1997, is located on the Apalta ridge and spans 140 hectares, one-third of which is Carménère and one-third is Cabernet Sauvignon. In the last two years, the company began planting new areas in the Apalta Vineyard, rising up the mountain with 13 new hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and other terraces. The Clos Apalta Resort, built next to the winery and surrounded by the Apalta forest, also grew in the last year with new facilities and rooms.
