Lantieri has single-handedly revived viticulture and winemaking on Vulcano, one of the smaller and more wildly beautiful Lipari (Aeolian) islands. Back in 2003, she decided to plant five of the eight hectares she owns with grapevines. An obviously talented and passionate lady who rightly bet on the local varieties of the islands, first and foremost Malvasia di Lipari, she makes a dry and a sweet wine that are both splendid. In fact, the dry Malvasia is the best made on the islands and one of Sicily’s most interesting dry white wines.
