Now owned by the large insurance firm Generali France, which bought it from the d'Arfeuille family in 2007, this 22-hectare estate featuring diverse soils is one of the largest properties of Pomerol, and an estate with excellent potential that has yet to be fully expressed. In his desire to take La Pointe to the next level, General Director Eric Monneret has brought in Hubert de Bo u ard of Ch a teau Angelus as consultant and asked Pierre Becheler, a well-known geologist who has worked with Cos d'Estournel, Palmer, Montrose and Branaire, to do a complete study of the soils and subsoils of the estate. A consequence of these studies was the uprooting of all the cabernet sauvignon planted on soils that were too cold for the variety, and the completion of important drainage work on one-third of the property.
