This is a fine set of wines from Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne. The wines are done in a decidedly minimalist style. Early picking favors freshness, although late heat-spikes in 2023 yielded wines —whites especially—with a bit of extra creaminess and mid-palate texture. This is an adventurous range. The new Bourgogne Aligoté Macération 62 sees extended time on the skins. Aging is done in a combination of mostly neutral oak vessels, with amphora in some of the wines. The whites I tasted had been filtered about a week prior yet were still quite expressive. There’s an aesthetic to these wines that is undeniably compelling.
