Although his wines have not been quite as stunning as they were in the late '90s, when the estate was considerably smaller, the '03 and '04 vintages suggested that the ever popular Gunter Kunstler was back on track. The 2005s, however, and in particular the entry-level dry rieslings, are not up to the standard of last year. Though it was not my highest-rated wine, I nevertheless enjoyed drinking the luscious Holle Kabinett.
