Helen Keplinger makes some of the most compelling Rhône variety wines in the United States. Her 2017s show the clear imprint of a year with brutal heat spikes in their ripe profiles, and in some cases, firm tannins. Overall, the Syrahs handled the rigors of the year best. As always, these wines are imbued with real character and tons of personality.
