Theo Haart confined himself to Kabinett and Spatlese wines (with one tiny exception) from this vintage of botrytis-free fruit. You had to have higher Oechsle at a given Pradikat says Haart, in order to get enough stuffing. His results have exceptional clarity and for the most part good acid structure for the 1997 vintage. When I survey the past eight years, Haart is one of the four or five consistently finest sources of riesling quality along the entire Middle Mosel. (Rudi Wiest)
