Proprietor Kate Green has done a tremendous job in her stewardship of Grace Family Vineyards since purchasing the estate in 2019. The wines I tasted on my most recent visit, and then later in my office, were sublime. There are a few changes to the range that are worth highlighting. The new Reliquus Cabernet Sauvignon is an entry-level offering conceived for the restaurant trade. Readers will also note the addition of a new single vineyard wine from Cornelius Grove in the hills of southern St. Helena. The site is currently undergoing redevelopment, so the wines are works in progress but already quite promising. Of course, the Grace Cabernet Sauvignon remains the flagship. Winemaker Helen Keplinger continues to ratchet up quality in a meaningful way. The 2021s are magnificent. Sadly, yields are down 30% across the board. These are the very finest wines I have tasted from Grace for as long as I can remember.
