Sisters Marta and Carlotta turned out a gorgeous set of 2020 Barolos that embody the style of the year nicely. The wines are aromatic, gracious and super-expressive. I imagine the 2020s will drink well with minimal cellaring. Other than that, not much has changed here in terms of how the wines are made. The Rinaldi sisters continue to honor their parents' legacies, crafting wines that meld together old-school soul with contemporary touches of added precision. Sadly, Brunate was damaged by frost in 2021 and required considerable replanting, so Barolo production will dip for at least the next several years.
