Giorgio Pelissero's 2021 Barbarescos are potent, tightly wound wines that will need a bit of time to unwind. Harvest took place between September 28 and October 10. The Nubiola and Tulin spend 24 months in equal parts cask and barrique, while the Vanotu is aged exclusively in barrique. Textural intensity and volume distinguish Pelissero's Barbarescos. As good as the flagship wines are, the entry-level offerings are as compelling. Lastly, the Long Now, Pelissero’s Barbera/Nebbiolo is especially fine in 2021.
