2012 Chardonnay Napa Valley

There are quite a few highlights among these new releases from Frank Family Vineyards. Proprietor Rich Frank is a man of many talents and interests; starting with a long and distinguished career in television and film. For the last 20+ years, Frank has spent a significant amount of time at his winery, a historic property that was once part of Larkmead, which is right across the street. Ironically, most of the vineyards are located elsewhere, including a property in Carneros and the Winston Hill Vineyard that informs the top Cabernets, which is in Rutherford. Winemaker Todd Graff has made some of the most accesible and immediate 2010 Cabernets of the year, there are plenty of other tasty whites and reds sprinkled throughout the range. These wines are sure to delight the estate's fans, of which there are many, based on what I saw in Frank tasting room the day I visited.
