These are some of the most intriguing wines I have tasted from Flowers in some time. Winemaker Chantal Forthun and consultant Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac are focusing on fewer bottlings, and that seems to be paying off. There is a sense of translucence to the 2018 Chardonnays that is quite appealing. The 2017 Pinots are a bit less consistent, likely the result of a harvest that coincided with the Labor Day heat spikes that year. As a reminder, the appellation wines are made from purchased fruit, while the vineyard designates are estate.
