Fisher's 2013s have largely turned out how I expected based on how they showed last year. The estate is comprised of two sets of vineyards, one on the Sonoma side of Spring Mountain, the other in Calistoga. For the sake of convenience and future reference, all the wines are reviewed here. The Fisher style can be described as contemporary with leaning towards the classic. I also tasted the 2014s from barrel, but found the wines in an awkward stage, so I will report on those wines at a later date.

Fisher Vineyards remains one of the hidden secrets of Napa Valley and Sonoma. The estate and most of the vineyards sit on the Sonoma side of Spring Mountain, but the Fisher family also owns the Lamb Vineyard in Calistoga, which informs the Coach Insignia and Lamb Cabernets. Readers should also look for the Chardonnays, both of which are terrific. The Mountain Estate Chardonnay is a bit brighter than the more powerful Whitney's Chardonnay. Both wines spend 18 months in oak, which is now practically unheard of in Bordeaux.
