Domaine Saint-Préfert must be counted among the appellation’s very best estates now. Isabel Ferrando’s touch has steadily become more delicate over the last decade. Ferrando’s style played well with what Mother Nature delivered in 2019 and 2018. Both vintages produced wines that showcase perfume and fruit intensity, but are a bit more forward than usual compared to her 2016s and 2015s. Don’t overlook Ferrando’s side project, Colombis. This is a single bottling of Grenache that is consistently a knockout, showing noteworthy clarity, energy and aromatic complexity. The 2019 and 2018 might be the best versions yet.
