I was very pleasantly surprised by the harmonious character of the new and upcoming releases here, especially by how well the oak and fruit played together in wines across the range. In the past I found too many of the wines, especially the top-end Juline bottling, to lean a bit too heavily on the lumber in spite of their impressive fruit concentration. That was far less in evidence when I tasted the '13s and '12s and I take that as an encouraging sign.
