Pierre Gros explains, “It was a relatively easy vintage, quite warm, though not as much sunshine as 2022. July and August were slightly less sunny than average, quite cool at the beginning of August. The quantity was huge, so we had to do a lot of green harvesting in all our parcels. We removed around one-third of the bunches, but it was quite heterogeneous. You could find between 15 to 20 bunches per vines when usually we have 8 to 10. We started picking on September 10 and it took quite a long time, six and a half days each for the Côte de Nuits and Haute Côtes. Everything is destemmed and the wines will stay in barrel until mid-April next year.”
