Félix Meyer is one of the most talented of the younger generation of Alsace vignerons who have taken over their family domains in the 21st century. His wines clearly speak of each grand cru or lieu-dit they are made from. I have a personal preference for his discreetly mineral and saline wines from the Wineck-Schlossberg, and his powerful yet refined Schoenenbourg wines. Meyer-Fonné owns 14 hectares and produces roughly 90,000 bottles a year; the estate is especially popular for its Rieslings and Pinot Blanc.
