Boillot describes his '97s as less alcoholic and powerful than the '92s, but with more acidity than the '94s or '91s. I found them generally well balanced, with plenty of stuffing and backbone for the vintage. The '96s at this address are as impressive as any wines I have tasted to date from this careful winemaker, despite the copious yields of the vintage. "1996 displays the terroir of each wine," says Boillot, "like 1990."
