Diamond Creek, one of the great old names in Napa Valley, began a new era in its rich history early last year when Rouzaud family, owners of Champagne Roederer and other top-flight estates, acquired the property from the Brounstein family. The Rouzauds made significant improvements at Pichon Comtesse in a relatively short amount of time. Changes at Merry Edwards were even more sudden and dramatic. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see what happens here. Graham Wehmeier, formerly at Cornell and Futo, is the winemaker.
