The Perrin family has devoted seven hectares of their Châteauneuf vineyard to white grapes, which is a lot for the region, relatively speaking, but then again Beaucastel's property spans a remarkable 130 hectares, with 93 of them planted to red grapes. Their white Châteauneufs have long been among the most widely distributed and are benchmarks for the appellation. The Roussanne Vieilles Vignes bottling ranks as one of the great white wines of the world.
