This is another terrific series of wines from Ceretto. The 2015 Barbarescos mark another step in the direction of finesse that Alessandro Ceretto and his team have been pursuing for the last few years. Today's wines emphasize a classic sense of structure and less overt French oak influence than in the past. As always, the challenge is finding a balance between being non-interventionalsit and pragmatic. Readers who haven't tasted these wines in a few years absolutely owe it to themselves to do so. The 2015 Barbarecos spent 8 months in barrique and then about 16 months in cask.
