Founded in 1951 by Marcello Broccatelli and Quintilio Galli, initially as Brogal Vini. There are documents attesting to a Giuseppe Broccatelli making wine in the area in the 18th century. Broccatelli Galli today owns 80 hectares of vines -- 50 near Torgiano, a town made famous by Lungarotti, and another 30 in the Montefalco area, home to the well-known Sagrantino wine. The estate produces many different wines under different labels, some more commercial than others (for example, the Vignabaldo line); those labeled Broccatelli Galli wines are very fine examples of what Montefalco has to offer.
