2022 Proprietary Red Wine

In just a few short years, Bella Oaks has established itself as a leading estate in Napa Valley. Of course, the history here goes all the way back to the late 1960s, when Barney and Belle Rhodes bought Bella Oaks and then began selling grapes to Heitz a few years later. The first commercial release for Bella Oaks as an estate winery under the ownership of Suzanne Deal Booth was in 2018. Since then, the wines have been consistently impressive. The 2022s are a success, while the 2023 I tasted points to a brilliant wine in its infancy. There is every reason to think these wines will continue to improve, considering the entire vineyard has recently undergone a complete replanting.
