There has been little continuity here since the departure of Claire Forrestier in 2006, with the result that quality has been uneven. Since my last visit a year ago, Eva Reh has hired a new vineyard manager and put long-time cellarmaster Denis Roziat in charge of winemaking. Grape sugars in 2006 were in the 12.5% to 13% range, and some chaptalization was done. Interestingly, Reh told me that the rot in 2006 was "between the grapes" and thus harder to pick out, while in 2007 the rot was much easier to see and eliminate. A few of the 2006s appeared to lack the mid-palate flesh and concentration to support their tannins, with the result that they finished dry-edged or tart.

I tasted this year with proprietor Eva Reh and new cellarmaster Christophe Vial, who previously worked at Domaines Lafon and de Montille and took over here in October. The 2005s were vinified by Claire Forestier before she moved on to Domaine Denis Mortet. On this visit, I was knocked out by the estate's Clos Vougeot.
