The Prager estate never before started picking so late as in '99, when they began October 27. As usual at this address, the rieslings are an especially interesting and largely impressive lot. Toni Bodenstein insisted this year that I revisit with him the TBA rieslings of recent vintages. This is a category he was one of the first Wachauer to attempt and in which his results are nothing short of spectacular, but a category that was not in the cards in 1999.
