Erica Landon and Ken Palow have built an enviable and well-deserved reputation for the consistent quality of their, for lack of a better term, Old World-inspired Pinot Noirs, which combine savory character with Oregon fruit exuberance. As they are able to source fruit from some of the Willamette Valley’s most storied, usually old-vine-rich vineyards, it’s no surprise that in 2017 and 2016 the wines are outstanding, showing depth of flavor as well as energy. While “Old World” can suggest some degree of rusticity that is definitely not the case here as the wines are polished and pure, with well-integrated tannins from the get-go, with the current vintages serving as prime examples.
