Mt. Carmel is one of the most compelling sites in the Sta. Rita Hills. It sits in an especially exposed, windy sector in the appellation, near Sea Smoke, Rita’s Crown and Wenzlau. Winemaker Matt Dees crafts wines that capture the essence of this rugged site. The Pinot Noirs are ample and structured, while the Chardonnays offer plenty of phenolic, hillside feel. Production for these wines is tiny.
