The surprise in this range from Tyler is the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is off the charts beautiful. I found the 2017 Chardonnays as a group more complete than the Pinots, some of which are a bit awkward at this stage. Some of that may have to do with how the wines responded to bottling. Time will tell. Overall, this is a solid range across the board, but without the peaks of some previous years. As always, Justin Willett’s style is all about grace, understatement and expression of place.
