This is the sort of estate that really showcases the charm, passion and quality of Italian wine. Located in the mesmerizingly beautiful Amalfi coast area of Campania, the estate is almost a hobby of owner Luigi Reale, who also runs a successful country inn and restaurant. I especially love and admire Reale’s dedication to a local native grape called Tintore di Tramonti, one of the few teinturier grapes anywhere capable of giving clean red and Rosato wines of above-average complexity, depth and polish. The white wine Aliseo, also clean and crisp, is another wine I never tire of. The fact the grapevines are anywhere from 70 to 120 years old and ungrafted no doubt also contributes to the making of such great wines.
