One of Hong Kong’s most famous restaurants, the multi-award winning T’ang Court may not be the last word in trendy, but it offers precise cooking and a fine wine list in a classic, refined atmosphere.

It's a strange feeling tasting at the Hugel family estate knowing that Etienne Hugel is no longer there to greet visitors (sadly, Hugel passed away last year). His legacy however lives on, and the next generation of Hugel family members is already in place at the winery. This year, two unbelievably delicious 2015 SGNs were the highlight of my visit at the estate. Unfortunately, these two wines will only be released in eight years or so. In the meantime, Alsatian wine enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to as Hugel has once again come up with a very solid lineup of classically dry wines as well, wines that speak very well of the varieties on the label and of Alsace. The 2008 Schoelhammer Riesling, an important wine from a small plot in the Schoenenbourg Grand Cru, is especially noteworthy, and in my mind a considerable improvement over the 2007.
