As usual, 2016 presents a wide array of single-vineyard and clonal-selection Pinots here. Owner/winemaker Jim Anderson views the vintage as ideal for the winery’s style because, although it was a warm growing season, it was not as hot as 2015 and 2014. Since Anderson’s objective is to make wine of detail rather than mass ’16 suits him just fine and he likens these Pinots to “maybe a cross of 2012, for its fruit expression and 2005, for its energy.” Anderson also reckons that the wines will be best after some age but allows that a lot of people will get pleasure from them on the young side as well as the tannins are well-integrated with the wines’ fruit.
