San Giusto fans will find plenty to like in this lineup of new releases. The 2018 Chianti Classico is supremely elegant, with a bit less body than is the norm, and terrific balance. For the first time ever, the Martini di Cigala family did not bottle their flagship Merlot Ricolma. The objective with La Ricolma is to encourage late ripening in the field, and that was simply not possible in 2017. Readers can take solace in a fabulous edition of Percarlo, the estate’s iconic 100% Sangiovese. These remain some of the most compelling, artisan wines anywhere in the world.
